The Heart of Winter

By Guest Blogger Janice Seres

We are nearing the heart of winter,

a time that is often bleak and dark.

There are no blossoms waiting to cheer us as we shiver through the park.

Curtains are drawn tight and the chimneys are all puffing smoke.

Looking about no soul might be seen,

but for the occasional poor bloke.

Everyone shall stay indoors,

cozy so much as they possibly can,

until this frigid cold heart of winter leaves us again.
